Gilvandroud is actually a river that comes down from the mountains and the countries on the south side of Masouleh. Down the mountain, it flows through a tiny village also called Gilvandroud that is populated with few families. On the way you also see a lovely waterfall.

Lalandiz country is one of the countries around Masoule where a few shepherds and cattle ranchers are keeping their sheep and cows from spring to beginning of the autumn. It is also a destination for hikers who will be greeted by Daei (uncle) Majid, a middle age man who owns a muddy-built shop in Lalandiz to ease hikers’ fatigue by a fresh cup of tea.

If you are interested in both nature and culture, you don’t have to look far.Masoule has hosed Talesh people for centuries beside the green mountains, mesmerizing jungle, waterfalls and several rivers. There are some peaks around Masouleh that can be climbed. If you hike up in the hills, you will encounter the true shepherds and get the feeling of travelling back in time.
